RAX120 Multi gig port
Hi,
If I plug my modem in the multi gig port instead of the wan port , I lose my internet . First , I make sure the internet in working with the wan port , then I enter the router settings and activate the multi gig port , switch the wire and then no internet access. I try rebooting the router , my modem. I even lose access to the router settings. I have to reset the router. Thanks in advance.

Re: RAX120 Multi gig port
What modem/gateway are you connecting it to?
After switching the port over, try this.
Once the router is fully switched/rebooted. Power off both the modem and the router.
Wait 2 minutes.
Power the modem on and give it 2 minutes to fully boot.
Then boot the router up with the multigig port connected to the modem.

Re: RAX120 Multi gig port
The bell hub 4000 is a modem/router combo device and causes a double nat.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

Re: RAX120 Multi gig port
so you've tried it with the bell in router mode and the RAX120 in Access Point mode?
Set it up in access point mode on a standard port and then switch it over to the multigig port
