I noticed that the firmware for the RAX200 hasn't been updated in over a year. Is this router on the EOL list ? I checked and it doesn't seem to be . Expensive router with not much support it seems . Thanks

Its not EOL but usually firmware updates fix bugs or security issues. Is there a bug you've got with it?

Have you see any security issued, or reports of them, that make you worry about your router?
New routers get more frequent updates because there are bugs that need squishing. With luck we shouldn't need any of these.
After that, updates are usually for security issues, often dealing with "threats" reported on fancy websites but that hardly, if ever, make their presence felt in the real world.
Netgear maintains a list of these things and the kit that might get hit:
