RAX200 is TOTAL GARBAGE-if you are reseaching .......
I'm on my 2nd RAX200. The real-life expectancy for this is only 2 weeks. after that, your network goes into freak mode. The 1st the wifi kept dropping, then the wired LAN started to drop, put an old R6700 back into the network , bam- all is normal. Your turn tech support-- all the firmware updating, power-cycling, resetting the router isn't going to work. All these rudimentary steps are a waste of time. NetGear knows this. I actually had a "tech " tell me (after waiting for 2hrs on sat night ) that WIFI meant - the internet. That DATA meant speed. and to top off I had to listen to her boy friend, husband or i don't know who it was, with her dog barking in the back round- talk about annoying. She told me she was going to "run a test on the router" . I had my network monitors and packet sniffers running and saw no change, inbound, or outbound. I even turned the router off and on while this test was "in progress". Her result- "everything seems fine". She didn't even put anything down-just closed out the support ticket. clarify- WIFI is a word that replaced the word WLAN-or wireless local area network. You have can have an entire "WIFI " network and NOT go out on the internet.DATA is measurent of storage, NOT Bandwith ie Megabytes per second. Another tech told me to use BETA version-really. I wanted a fix , not to become a test subject. There are "ghosts" devices (devices that were once attached to the network wired or wireless and they are not attached) still showing in "Attached devices", or, and "Access or Block ". DHCP is still handing out IP addresses- now multiple devices (with their mac addresses are retained) including those "ghost", havoc is released. So literally Netgear has gone half-a**, on trying to repair their problem.OK, that 2nd router, the same problem. I even went as for as to remove my 2 Netgear unmanaged switches for tp-sg108pe managed switches with hopes of using the link aggregation. no, go, my guess this is for Netgear's own NAS units. No matter how I set up the LAG on the switch , the router would see the LAG, trunk itself, and only run half the speed. Never got the 2 gig speed I was looking for. Maybe the proplem lies in being A Broadcom chip? For what is was worth, it was really fast for 2 weeks, no buffering, just enjoyment. I have a computer set with wire and wifi (wifi 6 nic). I can turn them off on the fly. The Ax (wifi 6 ) worked for 2 weeks - the card word link up solid -1.2 gig and 2.4 gigs (80x80,160MHz), then stopped - like one of the 5Ghz antennae just disappeared. I was only 4 ft from the router. OFDMA was great, but I had turn ALL of it off on ALL the bands just to get the WIFI nic to connect. I don't remember, but The RAX200 and RAX80 use Broadcom chip were the RAX120 use a Qualicum chip. I was a fan of Netgear, but not now, especially in the tech support. Wasted 600.00, don't you. I researched, thought its been over a year so bugs were worked out right--NO.R7800 is a good router, 2 cores, Memory: 128 MB flash and 512 MB RAM , just google R7800 datasheet- that goes for any of the routers

I must agree 100%! I own the r7800 and the r8500 both are superior routers to this. But that is only because on day one I installed dd-wrt software. The interface on netgear is for a child. You can barely change a Wi-Fi channel without some KIND of dfs error…. I figure some chinese kid is at the programing helm…I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS ROUTER TO ANYONE. IT’S YEARS BEHIND WHERE IT SHOULD BE. THE SOFTWARE IS TOTAL GARBAGE AND FULL OF ERRORS. LOOK AT THE FORUMS… SHAME ON YOU netgear. 500 FOR THIS IS A THEF!
