RAX40 USB Port broken?

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me, I’ve been using the router since December 2021 and everything’s been fine, a few months ago I plugged a Sandisk 256GB USB Flash Drive into it to stream TV shows onto my other devices, in January I upgraded it to a Sandisk 512GB USB Flash Drive, earlier this week we’ve started with WiFi issues (it’s on Virgin Media’s end) and before I knew this I rebooted the router a handful of times using the app and since then I can no longer access the drive from the router, I tried connecting to me laptop to see if the drive was corrupt and no, I tried connecting the old drive that was connected to another device to see if that would work and no, nothing.

Is there anything that can be done or does the router need to be replaced?

Have you been into the browser graphical user interface (GUI) and investigated the ReadySHARE settings?

Re: RAX40 USB Port broken?

Hi I've checked all of the settings and I've not had any luck getting it to work. The router isn't really acknowledging that it's even connected.

Did you try factory resetting the router? maybe in the on/off's you were doing, something in the settings was corrupted

Current setup: CM2000-> RBE973S-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80

That was going to be my next suggestion, but it is a bit of a nuclear option. Then again, always a good move when there are post-update issues.

First I'd like to know what @jackroberts finds in the GUI.

Hard to interpret comments like:

Acknowledged where? Windows? ReadySHARE settings?

Then there is the Windows SMB1 challenge. Has @jackroberts considered this?

Re: RAX40 USB Port broken?

Hi again sorry, I’ve been using the web gui and before it stopped working I mainly was connecting it to a Mac using smb protocol. I’ve checked around and it just seems to notice it at all.

I was trying to attach a screenshot of the homepage when on the ReadyShare block it just says “STATUS: No USB drive”

Unfortunately, I am too poor/mean to have ever owned a Mac. But I do know that Windows turns off SMB1. You have to turn it back on before Windows can see USB drives on ReadySHARE.
