RAX80 Updated to Firmware Version 1.0.10.140 and Wifi speeds dropped

I have a Nighthawk RAX80 and I updated to the most recent firmware update //

Firmware Version 1.0.10.140

Wifi speeds dropped from 800 up and down to barely over 100.

I tried reverting to the old update but that didn't fix the issue and I'm not sure what I'm doing.  I need some help from someone smarter than me.

I'm including a screenshot up the old firmware and new firmware I updated to as well as the speed test from 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and Wired in that order for reference if needed.

1. You weren't hitting 800mbps over 2.4ghz. the 60 is more in line with what 2.4ghz is capable of

2. the 250mpbs over 5ghz, what device are you testing on? And how far from the router are you ? What link speed do you get when connected at that spot?

3. Did you try a factory reset?

4. What modem/gateway are you connected to?

Re: RAX80 Updated to Firmware Version 1.0.10.140 and Wifi speeds dropped

- I tested on a iPhone and iMac and I was getting 800 up and down on 2.4GHz. I don't have smart connect turned on for my router so I can manually select between 2.4 or 5GHz. The specifications for my router allow me to theoretically get up to 1.2Gb on 2.4GHz from 15 feet away.  Before calling someone a liar, maybe check the specifications if you're trying to help?

- The router is maybe 50ft away in the next room and I have it hard wired to my iMac.

- I didn't try a factory reset as it'll be my last option.

- The modem is one provided by AT&T: Model BGW320-500

That would break the laws of physics.

Tested how? The Nighthawk app measures the speed through the modem, not over the WiFi.

That looks like a gateway (modem/router).

Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.

This explains some of the other drawbacks.

It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router. But some Internet service providers, such as BT in the UK, supply modem/routers that won't work in bridge mode. There may be ways to get the modem/router to cooperate. Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:
