RAX80 keeps disconnecting but Remote Managment still works

My RAX80 keeps disconnecting from devices, wifi and wired. But Remote Management still works through the Nighthawk app via mobile data connection, so I know the router is connected to the internet. Works after rebooting but then disconnects after less than an hour, sometimes a few mintues. I have the lastest firmware update. Any ideas?

After months of having disconnect issues with my router on both wired and wireless, troubleshooting everything (modem and other devices) in forums, troubleshooting with my ISP, I finally had to call Netgear for a possible warranty claim. They honored the 1 year warranty. I sent mine to them and got another one back, I've had no problems since. Yes my internet was slow because of a "channel filter" device on the outside cable line, but it was still on there when I got the replacement router and I no longer got random disconnects to both wired and wireless devices. So, yes I did everything I could, the warranty claim was the last resort. As it should be.

Re: RAX80 keeps disconnecting but Remote Managment still works
I have the same problem where my RAX80 somehow loses connectivity to the internet.
This router was working fine for ~5 months.... but, I had to reboot the RAX80 yesterday , and now it seems to have intermiittent disconnection with the LAN and wifi clients.
I am seeing the intermittent loss of network connectivity by pinging 'www.yahoo.com' IP address from a machine on my network. I do it with 1000 packets, and I see some packet loss intermittently. I should not see any... It seems to affect all clients both on Wifi and LAN connections. Everything was working great up until the RAX80 reboot. so, im not sure why its behaving how it is now..
Im not sure if upgrading the firmware will fix. I am waiting for someone to try and see if it works. There is an upate out...for me..
i am running:
Firmware Version | V1.0.1.70_1.0.30 |
Some folks have mentioned that they get better results turining off smart connect.
Other mention that if they use the RAX80 as an AP and not a router, then they dont see the intermittent connectivity drop outs.. i havent tested this myself to know...
I hope a fix comes out.. but it seems like a lot of folks been having problems with RAX80.
other threads:
it seems like this problem has been around for awhile with other firmwares... this is just the first time i experience it...RAX80 is awesome when it wants to works..
i hope this gets fixed....
I use the rax80 with the EAX80.. the EAX80 does not seem to have issues.
