RAXE500 - 2.4 Ghz and 6 Ghz RSSI fluctuations standing next to the router

The 2.4 Ghz and 6 Ghz wifi RSSI seem to fluctuate a bit, with 6 Ghz fluctuating more sometimes up to +/- 10 dbm even standing next to the router. Looks like both the 2.4 and 6 Ghz band antennae are in the right wing of the router. Changing the channels didn't help Is the router defective? Got this router in a deal for 271 bucks and thinking of returning it.
Also the latest firmware causes inconsistent latency spikes in both wired and wireless connections to the router. I had to downgrade the firmware to prevent this latency issue. Is it wiser to get the RS series instead?

Its normal. someone has already written an article on it so I'll link to the article versus re-writing it.

Re: RAXE500 - 2.4 Ghz and 6 Ghz RSSI fluctuations standing next to the router
I looked at the same article before. the 5 Ghz RSSI doesn't vary much, may be +/- 2 dbm next to the router. The large fluctuation only happens in the 2.4 and 6 Ghz band RSSI. Is there anything defective with the right wing antennae of the router?

@plemans Do you think that 5-10 dbm variation in RSSI standing next to the router is normal in the 6 Ghz band? The 6 Ghz band is barely useable in this router unless you are in line of sight of the router within 10-15 ft.

If you feel its an issue with the device, feel free to open a support case with netgear if its in warranty. If its new, sometimes its faster to exchange it where you bought it

Thank you, will see if I can return for an exchange or get the RS series instead.
