RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Back On 2021-04-06 16:27:45 on Case Number 44416487 I chated with a Netgear Support Engineer and helped me find the QOS setting for the RAXE500 / AXE11000 WiFi Router. They were not in the usual place under i.e. Advanced / QOS. If I recall they were under Basic Tab / Home section and when looking at the Attached Devices square box right under number of attched devices there was alink to the QOS and Speed test settings, or there could have be a separate box diplaying the link. Nevertheless I can no longer find the QOS / Speed test settings page for my RAXE500 WiFi 6E Router. Can someone please point me to it, or let me know if an update took it away. Also yes for sure the new RAXE500 had QOS hence my support ticket back on 4/6/21. I mention this as some will lead you to beleive it does not since the setting has never been in thr normal place as other routers in the past. I even requested that they enter a bug or enhancement to get the QOS setting back in the normal place and not the obscure place it was placed in in the RAXE500.
Thanks for any help

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Oh, you're definitely not crazy ABONE.
It was there as evidenced by this screencap from earlier this year....
I can only guess that QoS was some sort of problem and since many people disable it they felt it was better to just remove it. Maybe it'll come back at some future point.

Well, no idea why my screen cap doesn't appear, it was there before I clicked Post.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
I see your screen shot and thank you for confirming it was indeed there. That is exactly where I was accessing it, and succefully using it. Now I would like someone maybe from Netgear support to chime in and let us know where it went? Why it was taken awway? and if its coming back?
Thanks again

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Yeah, weird about the picture not showing up initially.
I'm afraid that the info you seek may be outside the purview of the Netgear people who monitor this forum, or perhaps they might know but be restricted in what they can say. Let's see if they comment.

Hello Community,
The RAXE500 currently does not support QoS.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Christian
Thanks for you post, however the point is that out of the very expensive Box the softwar / firmware of the RAXE500 did support QoS.
Which is shown in tonydi's attached screen shot. I can also confirm it worked and when selecting the QoS button / option the menu screen also had the onboard speed test option which helpful and common thing for Netgear Routers with QoS.
I'm not sure if you work for Netgear, or have access to someone that does, but the questions for Netgear are.
Why was QoS taken away from the RAXE500?
Will QoS be returned to the RAXE500?
If so when?
Thanks

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
QoS is supported by the candidate FW so you may check with support team for the beta version for trial first.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
@DarrenM Is there an update on the QoS supported trail firmware? I am trying to use it with an xfinity modem to no avail. If I turn QoS on and reboot the router, it appears to be connected but totally fails. If I turn QoS off and reboot, it works.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Built in router her at the modem? If so, This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers?_ga=2.190834155.1964120923.1641394007-133989108....
https://kb.netgear.com/24086/How-do-I-set-up-a-default-DMZ-server-on-my-Nighthawk-router
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.
https://kb.netgear.com/24104/How-do-I-change-my-Nighthawk-router-to-AP-mode-after-I-ve-already-run-s...
Try Option #2 first...

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Thanks for the extensive response. V1.0.9.72_2.0.36 is loaded, and I've had the gateway (Model:DPC3941B Vendor:Cisco) in bridge mode since my first attmept. I just can't get it to work in QoS. Even setting certain machines to Highest priority doesn't work. I'll set a workstation to Highest and click Apply and it just sets back to High. Moot point though as it isn't working anyway. I really apreciate the help. Tomorrow I'll try setting it up as an AP and if that doesn't work, I guess I'll head back to microcenter.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
I try to adjust QoS settings - change devices from low to high and vice versa and click apply. Page refreshes and the devices are unchanged from their original setting.
So far, in the description when I bought this, is promoted dynamic QoS and Netgear Parental Controls. Neither are available. Fortunately, I can still return it. Just a shame that netgear is basically selling this with false advertising - stating it has features which it does not. It's a shame too. I love Netgear, and the other qualities of this router have been outstanding. Armor seems to be working without issue, the signal strength is insane compared to my previous r9000, and it's generally been reliable as I haven't had random disconnections.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
You can try this beta to see if it helps any however, I don't see anythign regarding QoS:

I have the same issue with that firmware. I have a seperate Netgear CM1100 modem. After beta firmware install, I unplug modem and router for 2 minutes. Power modem fully, then power the router. Internet works on wired and wireless devices. I enable QoS. Internet access is unavailable. Both wired and wireless.

Re: RAXE500 QOS Settings Missing
Its not currently supported in the 1.0.9.78 version. I've got it installed on my RAXE500.
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity
