I used to be able to connect to a bank website that no longer connects with my RAX40 WIFI6 ROUTER. It just times out.
No other useful messages?
Which browser?
Is that the only site that blocks you?
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

Re: Rax40 won't connect to a web site, times out
Error message:. Connection timed out. Server did not respond in 30 seconds
I am using windows11. PC is hard wired using Ethernet. If I put my old Trendnet 300 router as primary and RAX 40 Netgear as a second router connected to the 1st router with Ethernet cable, the same PC connected to RAX 40 connects to that web site. But, this does not work when RAX40 is used as a primary router. RAX 40 is a faster, better router with 1200 Mbps. So making that as secondary router lowers overall internet speed from 300 Mbps to 100 Mbps. That's why, I would like to understand what's wrong and fix it to be able to fully utilize it's capability. My firmware is the latest update and this router was able to connect to the website two months ago in primary position. I have tried doing factory reset by poking a pin in the hole on the back of the router and rebooting the entire network modem 1st, router next, but it no longer connects to that website in primary position. Any suggestions to try would be most welcome.

That raises another question, it might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The make and model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Modem in from is a spectrum cable modem provided by the ISP. It is not a router.
Without proper details, we'll have to take your word for that.
...as I stated earlier, RAX40 reaches the website in question if in the second position.
I assume that this means that you put the RAX40 into wireless access point mode. In that case, the other router does all the work.
Have you tried using a different Domain Name Server?
I have just found that there is a hot patch recently published that the router does not automatically or manually detect when one tries firmware update and there are a couple of different versions of it for two different RAX40 router versions.
That is one reason why it is good to check the support pages for your device for firmware, and why claims of "the latest" are not much help.
Be careful to get the right firmware for your hardware (V) version. It should prevent you from using the wrong one, but better safe than sorry.
The latest firmware for the V1 hardware is not so much a hot fix as a new release:
RAX40 Firmware Version 1.0.5.104 | Answer | NETGEAR Support
Your version is more than a year old.

Re: Rax40 won't connect to a web site, times out
Updating firmware and lowering MTU to 1400 allows reaching that website, but there seems to be an intermittent drop in connection I did a tracert. It shows time out at several hops. Can anyone tell me how to fix that as timeout starts with a spectrum/charter communications server, but a few others non-spectrum servers in between also time out. My Setup now: Spectrum Modem, followed by RAX 40, connected by Ethernet to a Windows 11 PC. see the Tracert output below.

Glad the firmware helped to fix it. Apologies for not noticing it earlier. Odd that Netgear didn't suggest it.
But it is hard to see how doing anything on the router can fix the tracert issues.
