Router drops my switch
Hello,
My wired switch, Netgear Gs605v5 drops internet after a few minutes, unplug it, it works for another few minutes. I have it wired to a Nighthawk AX3600. It's worked great for a year, now it has stopped working like it should.
I have updated the firmware of the router to version V1.0.12.120_2.0.83. I can unplug the switch from the router and then plug that ethernet cable into my pc and have internet with no problem at all. I have swapped out the switch and the other Netgear GS108 switch the does the same thing.
What can I do to correct this?

Re: Router drops my switch
I've set the router back to factory defaults, still works the same. Wifi does work and has no issues. It's just the connection to the switch, it drops the switch after a few minutes.

Re: Router drops my switch
What model router do you have?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the switch and router. CAT6 is recommended.
Does this happen with a different switch?

Re: Router drops my switch
Router is a NetGear Nighthawk AX5 RAX41 5-stream Wifi Router
Switch 1 is a NetGear GS605v5
Switch 2 is a NetGear GS108
I have tried two different CAT 6 cables, both will work plugged in from router to pc.
I normally have just one switch in my office for 3 pc's.
I have tried two different switches, listed above. When I plug in either switch, the switch will work for about 5 minutes, then looses connection.
I have been using the GS605v5 for about 6 months now with no issues with this setup, I purchased it new along with the router above, since my wife now works from home.

Re: Router drops my switch
AX3600 is a wifi speed, not a model#
So both of these switches fail after minutes of being on?
Do PCs directly connected to the router exhibit the same thing?

Re: Router drops my switch
Updated the router with the model #.
Yes, both switches behave the same, upon powering up, they will work for 3-5 minutes.
The pc's will work with no issues directly plugged into the router with either CAT6 cable.
Switch 2, GS108 is brand new.
Switch 1, is about 6 months old
Router was purchased with switch 1 6 months ago
