Hello,

is it possible to make a mesh configuration with 2 netgear nighthawk ax4 devices ?

thus Router to Router ?

Mesh? No. 

Can you use one in router mode and the other in access point mode? Sure. 

You can even name them the same. Devices can roam based on their own roaming protocol. They'll be a little "stickier" than a true mesh system like orbi MK nighthawk but you can do it.
