rax40 bridged slow wifi
I have been noticing my wifi slow down recently and I can't seem to figure out why. I have my centrylinkC1100T set up bridged with an Ax4 RAX40 ax3000 router. I am getting only half of the speed that I pay for. I pay for 100mbps and only get 60mbps at most even 5ft from the router. When I run the speed test that is built in the nighthawk app I get 97mbps but when I run a speed test on any other device I only get half of that. Why could this be?

Re: rax40 bridged slow wifi
are you connecting to 2.4ghz or 5ghz?
2.4ghz is much much slower than 5ghz and the speeds you're getting would be understandable if you're on the 2.4ghz.
For faster speeds, make sure your on the 5ghz band.

Re: rax40 bridged slow wifi
if you run the centurylink modem/router in router mode and put the rax in access point mode, what speeds do you get then?
it wouldn't be the first time a ISP supplied modem/router didn't have a proper bridge mode

Re: rax40 bridged slow wifi
If you put the netgear in AP mode, you'll need the disable bridge mode on the centurylink

Re: rax40 bridged slow wifi
If you log into the ISP supplied router, it should be giving the RAX an IP address since its controlling dhcp. Is it assigning an IP address?
