RS280 Keeps Dropping WifI

I previously posted about the router giving my wife DNS issues and a phantom client appearing.  The last several days it has been randomly dropping WiFi.  The is a royal PITA.

At this point, I am awaiting a new router and will try that.  I've wasted way too much time with this.

Any other suggestions?

Internet Drops Randomly

A week or so ago my wife's desktop connected via ethernet started getting a DNS error and couldn't connect to websites via their name. After several minutes, the situation cleared. It returned again a day or so later. I ultimately assigned a DNS server to it. The problem appeared again the other night. In addition, the WiFi will drop for a minute or so throughout the house. I did a full scan with Malware Bytes and nothing was found. This morning I did a full inventory of devices on the network. The only thing that caught my eye was an inactive HP800SFF. I do not own that device. I was thinking that maybe one of my devices was using a recycled chip. I deleted it and used access control to block all new devices. Anyone have any idea as to what's going on? Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Internet Drops Randomly

I restarted the modem and router. It also affects Alexa and Google home. As the internet is not affected, it appears to be a DNS issue as you suggested. I manually assigned Google and Cloudfare as the DNS servers in the router. This wouldn't be the first time that my ISP had a problem. Thanks for the reply.

Re: Internet Drops Randomly

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Does the Internet LED turn amber when this happens or does the WIFI LEDs turn OFF when this happens?
