Just got my new RS300 today, and man has it been a ride. I am unable to get this thing connected to the internet no matter what I do.
I've rebooted the router, and modem
Updated the firmware to the current version
checked the routers status (it shows an IP address DHCP server and DNS server from the modem)
Reset to factory defaults, left every setting alone and just tried to let the system do it all.
Tried manual settings during set up.
Set up the Mac address to clone my previous router
Used 3 different network cables
Tested the modem directly to 2 computers (both work)
Reconnected to the previous router (works with all 3 cables)
Enabled IPV6 (Auto detect / Auto settings) Used IPV6 to IPV4 tunnel (doesn't grab an IPV 6 address, and the old router is set up on IPV4 only)
-I've found that the router will grab an IP address but lose it with in a few minutes lose it. Im not sure what else to do at this point aside from return the router.

To give an update here. I did end up solving the issue after taking a break.
For any one having this issue, if they come across this, these where my steps
Connected to old router, downloaded the firmware update and installed it from the PC (Switched the network cable to the netgear router, and told it to install from my desktop) > grab your MAC address and DNS server information while you are here.
Unplugged the power to the modem
Entered the MAC address under Advanced > Internet setup.
Entered the Primary DNS and secondary DNS servers
Plugged in the power to the modem and network cable
This for some reason worked on the 2nd try. Maybe I botched it the first time by adding - (that's how my old router showed the mac) instead of :.
I got to this being the main possibility by plugging the modem directly into the PC, which this time it did not get an internet connection. It leads me to assume that the lease time is rather long and wont renew on seeing a new MAC / device
