Re: Intel AX200/AX201 devices cause ALL 5ghz clients to stop communicating on R6900P

I just got the Nighthawk RS700 router today and I'm having the same compatibility issue with a computer that has the Intel AX201 chip.  Has anyone found a solution to this?  I have an open case with support but I'm waiting for a call back from them.  It also seems to be having an issue with a laptop that has the RTL8822BE chip.  All my other devices connect without any issue.  I've tried a lot of troubleshooting steps like updating drivers, etc. but it didn't help.  If I connect the Nighthawk WiFi 6E (A8000) adapter to the computers then they connect without any issues.  However, I would still like to resolve this compatibility issue.  It seems that it has been causing issues with users for the past few years.  I shouldn't have to purchase an external WiFi adapter for all my computers to get them to work with the router properly.  They had no issues connecting to the Xfinity XB7 router.  I'm considering returning the Netgear router.

What OS platform are you using? Win 10 or 11?

What Intel Driver versions are being tried?

What FW version is loaded on the  RS Router?

Is Protection Engine enabled on the router?

What ISP Brand and model modem or ONT is the RS connected too?

What wifi channels are you using?

Re: Intel AX200/AX201 devices cause ALL 5ghz clients to stop communicating on R6900P

Here are my responses to your questions:

What OS platform are you using?  Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Build 26100.3194

What Intel Driver versions are being tried?  I updated to the latest version 23.120.0.3 dated 2/6/25 but the previous version that was installed had the same issue.

What FW version is loaded on the RS Router?  1.0.7.96 (latest version)

Is Protection Engine enabled on the router?  Armor is Active on the router (but not on any of the computers)

What ISP Brand and model modem or ONT is the RS connected too?  It is currently connected to the Xfinity XB7 in bridge mode but I have a Netgear Nighthawk CM2050V arriving tomorrow.

What wifi channels are you using?  It is set to Auto

The computer with the Intel AX201 chipset worked fine with the old Xfinity XB7 router before I installed the Netgear so I don't think there is anything physically wrong with it.  The computer works fine with the Netgear RS700 when the Intel AX201 is disabled and the Netgear USB A8000 Wi-Fi adapter is plugged in so I don't think it's the computer.  The Internet works fine on my iPhone, iPad, MacBook M4 Pro, and all my other devices so I don't think there is an issue with the cable modem or router.  It seems to be a specific issue between the AX201 and the RS700 router.  When I am using the AX201 Wi-Fi adapter the 5Ghz network comes to a crawling halt and I am unable to ping the router without a lot of packet loss.  It seems like the Wi-Fi 6/6E devices still run fine.  It think it's only the 5Ghz network that is having issues when I try connecting with the AX201.

I hope this information helps narrow it down.  It appears like this issue has been happening for a few years on different router models with multiple people in this thread.  That is why I replied to this thread instead of starting a new one.

Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.

To further narrow this down, try disabling Smart Connect and connect the Wi-Fi adapter to each radio on 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz and 6Ghz and run speed test on each.
