Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
I have updated RBR850 to Firmware 3.2.16.6.
Once you change any device name in the attacjed device list, all devices will disappear from the attaced devices.
I did hard reset the Router, and changed Mobile name in the device list, then all clients in the attached devices disappeared again.
Devices still show in the Orbi App.

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
Could i just ask what you changed the device name to? I've had terrible problems in the past with Netgear equipment device name lists parsing names that include any "special" characters at al. Netgear seems to go with the most plain vanilla of naming standards. Try avoiding anying but a "-", letters and numbers and see if that helps.

I had the exact same finding back with RBR50s.... Never make device names complicated with special characters else it could make them lost. This is especially true with satellite names!

Hi, wondering what kind of DNS issues are you seeing? Was this with just the new firwmare or the old as well? Wonder if it was related to the issue that I had experienced this morning where my entire Orbi network was completely unusable.

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
I have occasional DNS errors and reloading the page resolves it. Here is the link for details from other people who had same issue but no resolution was provided.

Thanks,
Yikes, that's a nasty bug (if it's one). For my particular setup, I had hard coded Google and OpenDNS for my DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 208.67.222.222) and not my ISP's DNS. What concerns me now is that does this issue manifests itself after a few weeks/months (?) of uptime when everything was working fine and then suddenly......KABOOM!

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
Just made a change to one devies, added it to a IP address reservation, made a change to the name as well. Saved and applied the change. Devices still listed for me i Safari under attached devices. Thought I'm using a beta OSX 11 (Big Sur).

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
This is a known issue with both the 850 and 750 series. It does not affect performance or connection, although it is annoying.
It was corrected with the current firmware update for the 750 series. Not sure if a new 850 firmware is released yet.

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
I can verify on my 8 series with v12 loaded, that after changing the device name and icon and applying the change, the device list appears and the change is correct:

Have you tried doing it via the app? On my Android app (v2.8.0.1395), when I change the icon (e.g. a Ring doorbell is misidentified as something else by the icon, so I changed it to the doorbell icon) to the correct type, it saves it but when I refresh, it loses the changes.
Same problem via the web GUI as well. I make the changes and it doesn't retain it. Firmware V3.2.16.22_1.4.9 on 850's.

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
So I opened Orbi app, v1385 on my Tab S2 pad and found a couple of items to edit. One was a DEV:something and a Cisco device. The DEV item is acutally a D-Link DCS-960L Camera and the Cisco is a ATT microcell.
I edited them both in the Orbi app, Gave new names and change the icon for the microcell to a wifi router with the antenna and signal icon. Save the setting, I then opened the RBRs web page in a web browser and found the changes there and all devices were also still listed.
FW is v12 on the 8 series system.

Re: Firmware 3.2.16.6 Web GUI bug
Once I unplugged RBS50 sat the admin web will show the attached devices.
So Netgear should test it and fix it.

The latest firmware 3.2.17.12 fixes this issue. Confirmed on both 750 and 850 systems.
3.2.17.12 firmware? Is that publically (or beta) released? I don't see it on the website and my RBK850's doesn't detect it.
