Initial Set Up - Orbi Mesh AX4200 (RBK752) w/ ATT Uverse Pace 5268AC & Port Forwarding (torrents)

I'm awaiting my Orbi and have done some online research for the initial set up that will meet my needs. . . but I haven't located an online solution just yet.

Don't judge me  . . . I'm using ATT Uverse Pace 5268AC and will add the Orbi Mesh AX4200 (RBK752).

I simply want to extend the WiFi range in my home and retain port forwarding for one of my computers (MacBook Pro w/BitTorrent). Everything else is garden-variety connections that are simple. I'll keep the DVR and TV AP plugged into the Pace so no issues there.

I suspect this setup is not all that unique but I can't find a straightforward explanation of how to do this. For example, should the Orbi be in router mode or AP mode? I know how to do those configurations on the Pace but which is the optimal setting for port-forwarding on a computer on the network?

I've also seen a "tip" that changing the Orbi network name to match the Pace WiFi name (and password) can eliminate the need to reset every device in the home. Loved the idea but not sure how to really implement it.

If someone can point me to the thread on how to set up an Orbi with ATT Uverse Pace so that port forwarding is retained, I'll be grateful.

I was able to complete the set up with only a few minor surprises. The ATT Uverse TVs and the port forwarding from the MacBook are working just fine, today, for now, hold my breath, etc etc etc.

Leave the ATT DVR and ATT WAP etherneted into the Pace router. Disable the ATT WiFi on the Pace. Ethernet a computer to the Orbi, use a browser to find orbilogin.com. Set up the Orbi in AP mode. Suprise #1: Do NOT use the Orbi Ap even though you'll be tempted to do so. It defaluted to Routner mode which created the double NAT scenario. Surprise #2 - make sure you've got an ethernet ready computer. In the MacBook world, those connections are getting scarce.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?

This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
https://kb.netgear.com/26765/Disabled-Features-on-the-Router-when-set-to-AP-Mode

I would try option 2 first, if not option 3.

You may want to upgrade your current modem at somepoint:
