Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
I have found one odd piece of behavior with the new update.
On my system I have 1 x RBR850, 1 x RBS850 and 2 x RBS50s.
The RBS50s are hard wired. The RBS850 is RF Backhauled.
Since the update to this version, the RBS850 reports itself as hard wired even though it is not. It reports this in both the Web GUI as well as the App.
I have rebooted with no change to effect and checked it again after 12 hours -- still the same.
Anyone else see this behavior?

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
I have rebooted both satellites as well as router, given them plenty of time to settle in.
It still shows the RBS 850 satellite as hard wired although it is RF Backhauled.
The two RBS50s are hard wired and it shows them properly.
Any ideas on how to unscrew this?
Both App and gui show the satellite hard wired, so it isnt an interface glitch.
How does this get reported to Netgear?

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
I forgot to check mine.
Try this, turn OFF the entire system. This time, turn ON only the RBR850 and RBS850, leaving the RBS50 OFF. Any change?

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
Will give that a shot tonight.
I had tried -- after the system came up and stabilized -- turning just the RBS 850 off and then back on with no effect.
One of the interesting artifacts is that in the network diagram (In the App), before this Firmware version, it would show the first "leg" off of the RBR850 was the RBS850 -- then the RBS50 -- then the other RBS50.
Now it does the three legs with the RBS50's first and then the RBS850.
This makes me think that perhaps your approach may have some value. Will let you know.
Thanks
Chuck

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
Wondering if the RBS50s are playing some havoc in the system since there not officially supported. Yet.

Good point... I dont recall the focus of that Firmware update, but I bet it did just that. Will report back as soon as I test it.

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
So -- I powered off all RBS's and the RBR.... and then I restarted ONLY the RBR850 and then the RBS850.
After boot, the Web GUI reported properly that the RBS850 was connected to the RBR850 via 5G RF Backhaul.
The moment I powered up the RBS50s (which are hard wired), the RBS850 changed to indicating a WIRED connection (even though it is not.)
Bottom line: Only since the release of the latest firmware revision (V3.2.9.2_1.2.4), has this behavior has occured. The wired and 5g status of satellites reported properly in the previous firmware version. It appears something was changed that now makes RBS50's less compatible. Operations seem to be normal, but since the reporting of the RBS850 is incorrect, I can only assume other aspects of satellite management are dicked up.
How do we get this to Netgear for further resolution?

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
Ok, what I thought. Mine report as both wireless. I don't have any RBS50's wire connected.
You might forward this to one of the forum mods. I presume NG may already know about this and are figuring out when they will make the RBS50s more compatible with the Orbi AX system. For now, you'll have to use it at your discretion until NG doesn't something in FW to make it all work.

Re: New RBK852/853 Firmware v3.2.9.2 Release
Can you look at the above identified issue and pass it on to whomever it needs to go to?
Bottom line: New firmware release makes RBS850s believe they are hardwired if you have RBS50s hardwired into RBR850.
Am more than happy to share experience and testing. Moment RBS50s are disconnected, RBS850 reports as 5g connected.
This was NOT the case before the recent firmware upgrade -- everything was reporting properly.
