Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
Anyone know when the Orbi RBK852 series will work with Netgear Armor and Disney Circle?
Also have an interesting internet situation. I recieve internet via a wifi service. If I plug the internet source directly into the Orbi router it will not recognize it, however if I plug the internet source into a switch and plug the router into the switch it will recognize it. Any ideas? Would like to have the internet plugged directly into the router if at all possible. Thanks

Re: Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too? Some ISP modems have built in routers already or handle connected devices differently.
For modems with built in routers, This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
Router mfr don't give out information on when new features are forth coming. You'll just have to keep an eye out on FW Release notes.

Sounds like a specialized switch configuration for your ISP...

Re: Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
Boy, the situation with the switch is really a weird one! I can't imagine what the switch would be doing that's any different from the direct connection.
The only thing that I can think of is to try a different cable between the modem and the router. There are two types of cables, normal and direct connection. Direct connection cables, or crossover cables, allow you to connect directly between two network cards rather than going through a switch. Most network interfaces nowadays will work with either cable type, but some wii not automatically re-configure themselves. It's unlikely that you have a crossover cable, but it's worth checking, just in case.

Re: Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
The orbi app gives an error message when armor trys to load, and the app doesn't even show a security window. I have taken the app off of my phone and reinstalled it with the same results. Any other option for getting Armor to recognize my Orbi Router?

Re: Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
Hi All,
Can someone please confirm when the ORBI RBK852 router will receieve a firmware update to enable circle? Ive just bought this system but am extremely dissapointed it does not (as yet) support circle parentla controls. Ive been using circle for a couple of years now on a nighthawk (and still paying for the Circle service) and was more than dissapointed to find the ORBI RBK852 system does not yet have this functionality. I just presumed it would being a new top of the line router. Many thanks

Re: Orbi RBK852 NETGEAR Armor and Disney circle and internet
Orbi AX isn't currently supporting Circle in it's FW. Was one post that NG was supposidly going to supporting in some future FW. No time frame on when that will happen. NG doesn't put forth when new features are forth coming in new FW.
Something to contact NG support about or post over in the Circle forum:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Circle-Smart-Parental-Controls/bd-p/en-home-circle
Good Luck.
