Re: Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
NG doesn't make it known when fixes are forth coming. User have to be patient. Any one seeing this problem is recommended to contact NG support to let them know.
Thank you.

Re: Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
Case has been escalated to L2 Netgear support. Have just been asked to send a debug_log file after changing from channel 36 to 40 and back to 36. File will be sent to their engineers.

Re: Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
Reply I received today:
"I have just received a reply from our engineers regarding the issue with the change of wiereless channel. They confirmed that they are aware of that and that they are working on it. Soon there will be a new KB article explaining how to solve this problem. At the moment, we do not know exactly when the article will be released."

Re: Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
There are several conditions e.g. interferences defined in the 802.11ac and .11ax standard describing why a software "selected" primary PCH can't be used. The PCH does not have to be the first channel in the band - but in a 40 Mhz or 80 MHz [or 160 MHz] band (which must be continuous), another of the two resp. the four, [or eight] 20 MHz wide channels can be used instead as the PCH, while all others are NCH[1]...NCH[n]
In the WiFi Analyzer display we see PCH Ch. 40 - but a band from 5250...5170, so Ch. 48, 44, 40, and 36 are used, so we have NCH1 36, PCH 40, NCH2 44, and NCH3 48.
This is why explanation e.g. in a KB article is required 8-)

Re: Orbi RBK852 - Selection of 5GHz channel 36
And yet Orbi AC and XR450 all broadcast 36 when selected manually. So do other non NG wifi routers I have tried.
