Orbi connect to Present router
My current router is an Arris furnished by Spectrum. Tech support at Spectrum states they do not support any other routers and will be unable to assist in the future if I replace this with the new Orbi. To overcome the drawback, could I leave the Arris connected to the modem and then direct connect the Arris to the Orbi? Tech support advises that under those circumstances. they will have access to the Arris and will note the presence of the Orbi (I do not know how that works) but more importantly, be able to check the signal, connectively and other matters.

Re: Orbi connect to Present router
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

Re: Orbi connect to Present router
I believe the ASKEY router can be removed then connect directly to the Arris TM Modem since thats a cable modem. However possible your ISP has special configurations which required the ASKEY Router to be in place.
You can give option#2 a try first if you have access to the host routers DMZ. IF not, try option#3 for the Orbi AX system.

Thanks for your suggestions, most of which are above my paygrade. Fortunately my grandson is a computer science graduate and may be able to implement the various options without blowing up my house.
