You can set channel 40 if you like. Depend on if you have any wifi nieghbors using these channels as well. Use a wifi scanning app on a mobile pad to see whos near by.

Re: Question on RBR750 for 5GHZ Channel setting

First up, thanks for clarifying.  If I may, what is the relevance of this value in the browser interface ( which is  preloaded such as 36,40,44,48)

However, in the Orbi App, it is suggesting to choose channels and does not sit well with the values which are preloaded in WebInterface.  May be Iam mixing two different things. Iam sure, someone can help to sort this out,

See the picture from Orbi App's recommendation

Can you use the Choose File button to attach the capture of the app picture? We have to wait normally for a forum moderator to approve inline pictures.

Re: Question on RBR750 for 5GHZ Channel setting

Well over all the channels seen are for general idea and what the app detects from your surroundings. I presume the back end scanner used in this app is also used in other non Orbi apps as well which those products you can select higher channels, (149-157) However on Orbi systems, 36-48 is only availalbe for users to select from. The higher channels are used by the Orbis WiFi back haul system and not configurable by users. So whats see on the app is just a suggestion and not necessarily something you have to do. And for Orbi, theres only 36-48 so thats all you can do. You can use scanners however there suggestions may not be applicable in some cases.

Seems like yoru app doesn't mention 36-44 so maybe these are busy with other wifi signals.

I tend to use a wifi scanning app for a mobile pad, these offer better results and you can see whos near by and what they are using in channels.

Re: Question on RBR750 for 5GHZ Channel setting

Suggestion to Netgear:

If Orbi App scanner screen is just a data and you don't have to make any meaningful information, just  call it out like that, to make is more meaningful. Otherwise, we are wondering what to do with that data point.

Thanks FURRYe38 for not giving up on followup clarifications

Re: Question on RBR750 for 5GHZ Channel setting

Please post about that here:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Idea-Exchange-For-Home/idb-p/idea-exchange-for-home

Also Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi App product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi App and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Good Luck.
