RBR850 replace with RBR852 (cable modem added) and firmware risk?
I am looking to consolidate the equipment I have. I have the RBR850 and a satellite, along with a CM1000 cable modem. I'd like to have the RBR852 that has a built-in cable modem -- but it occured to me there may be some issue with the cable company locking down the firmware. I can't imaging the user-space part being subjected to that, but since I don't have access to one, I wonder if someone can comment.
Also, in the above scenario, could the RBR850 be comverted to satellite mode?

Re: RBR850 replace with RBR852 (cable modem added) and firmware risk?
No. RBR can only work in router or AP mode. The CM1000 and RBK is an ideal configuration thats is recommended.
