Unable to disconnect wifi access to connected devices

I am unable to block internet/wifi access to connected devices using the orbi app. The status appears as "Blocked" under access control for a device which I want to block. Inspite of this status, the device has access to internet and continues to operate.

Product Model: RBR850

Orbi App - Iphone

Orbi Web - Chrome

Re: Unable to disconnect wifi access to connected devices

I updated the latest firmware to refresh the system of some bad file errors.

You will need a wired connection to your router. Please update the satellite first and then the router. This fixed the issue.

Re: Unable to disconnect wifi access to connected devices

Yes, both RBR and RBS needs to be on same version of FW. RBS first then RBR.

Enjoy.

Re: Unable to disconnect wifi access to connected devices

I am having the same issues, but my router and satalite claim to be on the same FW version...any advice?  do i still need to reload it manually?

My issue is that i tried to block both wifi and ethernet devices, and the block didnt happen until many hours later, and now that im trying to restablish the connection, 12 hours later, the devices still dont have access, even after full restarts on all components, including the router and satalite

Re: Unable to disconnect wifi access to connected devices

You need to manually update the firmware to resolve bad file errors. I am actually having the issue reappear and it requires a reboot every time to fix it. I have opened a new case with support but as you know that doesn’t help at all.
