After running a update, it's working fine app version 2.21.0.2590
RTR version V2.7.3.22

I've seen a lot of reports of issues with people accessing via the app lately. I'd use the browser for the time being and hold off and wait on an app update

Thanks, and yes I know it works with the explorer.
But the app needs to work properly, and Netgear needs to solve the issue.

This is correct.  Absolutely.

Those of us who participate in Netgear's community forums are in sort of an awkward position in situations like this where firmware is clearly defective.

  • We don't work for Netgear.
  • We have no influence over Netgear's support or engineering staff.
  • We don't have an "inside track" to learn what Netgear is working on or what their priorities are.
(sometimes there are multiple issues. which is more important? .... to who?)

The best we can do is look for ways for users to deal with the problem until new firmware is released.  In this case, it appears that this Android app issue can be worked around for some needs, and for specific needs cannot (Parental Controls, Armor especially).

It would be a good for the Netgear business unit manager who is responsible for or has oversight of the community forum to establish a touch point with the community admins and the development team. In doing so the top 10 common most bug or feature issues could be collated and reviewed for escalation. There needs to be a review process of the issues raise most in the community forum rather than relying on these cases coming via the support line and being seen as isolated issues.
