Orbi App

What happened to the Orbi App?  I updated the app on my iPhone, and then when I opened it I had to login using a different login name & password.  Then, the app wants me to create a location, etc. for Insight.  I just want to manage my home router like I use to be able too.  How can I get back to the old configuration?

Re: Orbi App

I believe the app needs a NG online account to connect first:

Use this log in first to connect the app, then use the routers log in admin and pw when directed.

Re: Orbi App

Thanks, but I don't understand your response.  I do have a NG account, and the Orbi (Insight) app makes me sign in when I first open it.  But then the app wants me to add a location; which I did, but still was not able to connect/see my router.

Re: Orbi App

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch using a wired Pc and web browser been performed since last FW update?

Re: Orbi App

I have a model #RBR50v2 with firmware V2.7.3.22.  This is connected to a Arris router.  I don't think it's a hardware issue.  I can connect to the router via my browers, but when I log into the Orbi app it connects me to the Insight account.

"This is connected to a Arris router."> What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

If the ISP modem has a built in router, what mode is it working in? Router or Bridge?

This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
