#Orbi RBR50
Setting up Orbi RBR50 for the first time, using the app. Everything goes well. I get to the "Up and running! Your orbit is now configured" screen, click the "Next" button, and a message box appears that says "Something went wrong. Please try again.", along with a Retry button. Clicking the Retry button leads to a "Loading..." message, but then the same "Something went wrong..." message comes up again, so now I'm stuck in a loop. The Orbi### network appears in my list of networks, but there is no connection to the internet.
I can see the connection to the Orbi in the modem admin page, so there doesn't see to be an issue with the connection to the modem. I've reset both the modem and the Orbi several times, and tried a new ethernet cable, but with the same results.
Has anybody had this issue? Can anybody provide a solution or suggestions? Thanks!

Sometimes an Orbi router gets into an unstable condition and needs to be Factory Reset.
(since you have not begun using it yet, this should cause no issues)

I should confess that my practice is to set up WiFi routers using a computer connected to one of the Ethernet ports and a web browser. The Orbi 'app' is really cute and Netgear almost bludgeons customers into using it, but there are a host of features that the 'app' cannot configure. I'd rather click on that tiny notice at the bottom of the screen that says, "I do not have a smart phone. Use the web app instead." (It's none of Netgear's business whether I own a smart phone or not.)
See page 25 of the User Manual:

p.s. From the description, it sounds like your Internet Service Provider (ISP) device is a combination modem/router (and possibly WiFi)??? Please be aware that some users run into problems with that configuration.

Re: Orbi RBR50 setup in app gets stuck in a loop
Thanks for the response! I use a Mac Air, which has only a couple of usb-c ports, but I was able to dig out a circa 2012 MacBook that has an ethernet port. Using the MacBook, connecting it to the Orbi with the ethernet cable, and using the web app, I was able to set up the Orbi without any issues. So I'm all good now, and will remember not to bother with the Orbi phone app, with which I wasted a couple of hours. Using the web app was easy; while the phone app was useless. Oh well.

You can also access routerlogin.net with a browser on a mobile device that connects over wifi.
No horrid apps to get in the way.
