We receive our internet via the Bandluxe e600 4G LTE receiver/device.

It should be noted that anywhere access worked on our setup until last year.

Amended statement: It's well and widley known that the Orbi app largely doesn't work for Anywhere Access at this time - at least for iPhone. No word from Netgear on a fix or interest in providing one.

I can't see why anyone would be another piece of Netgear equipment with this attitude from them.  Bought something that they abandoned.  Shame on them.

That may be a tiny bit exaggerated.  I have four Android devices that all connect to my Orbi through both Anywhere Access and Connect Locally.  There was a full month when the Android app could not connect locally and this meant that any device that had not previously enabled Anywhere Access was unable to connect at all.  Once the new Android firmware was released through Google Play (why "Play???" rather than "App Store"???), those four devices all now connect both ways.

My sense is that it is the attempt to enable Anywhere Access that is failing on iOS devices.

Would be presumptuous to think that NG has abandoned anything.

NG is aware of the issues at hand.

OK maybe.  Just my frustration leaking out.  🙂

It would be helpful if you describe the issue that has been going on for more than 2 months:

  • Model of Orbi system and firmware release?
  • Android device (or devices) running the Orbi app?
  • Version of Android Orbi app? (current version is v2.21.0.2590)
  • How is the app failing with regard to Anywhere Access?
    • Cannot enable Anywhere Access?
    • Cannot connect Locally?
    • Anywhere Access is enabled, but does not work
      • When connected to the Orbi locally
      • When connected to the internet somewhere else
    • Cannot get the app to open at all?
  • Is the web browser interface working correctly?

Sometimes we get tunnel vision from focusing on a specific problem and may not realize that users are experiencing other issues.

Lol. You know how many times I described my issue ? With the same questions. I don't want to seem mean or anything. I went through this so many times with so many steps. Uninstall. Install. Reset. Hard reset. Upgrading firmware. Downgrading frameware.

Re: Orbi RBR750 Router - can't enable Anywhere Access with Orbi app

My Bad for not reading back through the conversation. I found the post from October 3. The situation then (today) remains:

  • Android device is connected to the RBR750 system.
  • Version of the Android app is v2.21.0.2590.
  • Android app performs as expected on the local connection.
  • Attempt to enable Anywhere Access fails with "something went wrong."

Yes, this is ridiculous.

No problem. Thank you for trying to help. It's just frustrating especially when you looking at expensive system.
