Orbi router display device mac address wrong
Hi,
I am new to Orbi RBK752. When I use the Orbi App to check the device list that use the router, the mac address displayed in the app are difference with what I check in the device, eg for iphones, notebook, android phone etc, against the device name.
I have already update the latest firmware to the router. Is the router problem ?
Best Regards,
Edmond

Re: Orbi router display device mac address wrong
Many of the newer Apple and Android devices have a setting which controls which MAC address they use on WiFi networks:
- The MAC address of the hardware adapter, or
- A random MAC address which is designed to prevent "Big Brother" from tracking the device as it connects to different WiFi networks.

I turn this feature "off" on devices in my home because I want the Orbi to assign IP addresses based on MAC address and the constantly changing MAC addresses are a bother.
