connectivity

Changed providers. My RBR20  router is showing off line (red) on theNetwork map, but my satellite is showing green. The Internet, at top of network map is green as well.

Any ideas on why that is and how I can get the RBR20 router to be green, too.

Thank you, very much for your support.

Re: connectivity

The calix has an integrated router with it.

You'd be in a double nat if its not running in bridge/gateway only mode.

https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

options?

1. put the calix in bridge mode

2. put the orbi in access point mode

3. put the orbi's ip address in the calix's dmz

This appears to be a phenomenon related to the Orbi "app".  My observation is that people who participate in this forum seem to use the Orbi web interface much more than the app.  Netgear has a community forum specifically for the Orbi App.  You may get a more informed response by posting the question there:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-App/bd-p/en-home-orbi-app

The satellite shows green because the connection between the satellite and router is good.  An Orbi will function with no internet connection at all.  Of course, it will not be useful for most of us. ( We actually had a post by a hospital group that uses an Orbi network in Haiti to connect all their laptops to their database and have no internet connection.)

You did not indicate whether devices are able to access the internet.  If they are, then it is pretty obvious that the change in ISP's has disrupted some feature that the Orbi app uses to verify "all is good".

What does the Orbi web interface report as far as the Orbi status?

Re: connectivity

Greetings all!

Sorry for not getting back sooner.

Plemans thank you for the information. Your fix on making my provider to put their modem into bridge mode did the trick, however one more thing needed to be done.

They told me to re-boot my Orbi, while keeping the ethernet attached.

So I re-booted the Orbi, starting at re-installing it and after install everything is working properly.

Orbi has two green lights and working properly.

Again, thank you Plemans, and add the re-boot as a potential fix as well.

All be safe and healthy.
