ORBI pro 50 wifi 6 admin password unknown after power failure
Dear,
I post this here, because i don't seem to have rights to post on the product forum?:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-Pro-WiFi-for-Small-Business/bd-p/en-business-orbi-pro
Anyway, i saw a similar post of this issue before, but without a clear solution;
So i raise this again, it's simple, a power failure happens, short interruption (few milliseconds) of the electricity.
Everything reboots, i then try to login to my orbi router again, and it doesn't recognise my admin password.
I also tried to simulate this a couple of times, everytime the same.
I was loosing my mind, because i thought i was being hacked, but by coincidence i discovered that this happens after each power failure.
I've got the latest firmware update (V4.3.2.100), it can't find any new.
Please help, can i solve this myself, is this listed in the bugs and being solved in the next firmware update?
Since the last post about this was from 2021, i'm afraid not, but you never know...
Thanks
Kind regards
Andy

This English - NETGEAR Forum -> Business Solutions -> Wireless Orbi Pro - WiFi for Small Business is the appropriate section.
English - NETGEAR Forum -> Home Networking -> Mesh WiFi Systems -> Orbi Pro - WiFi for Small Business is just a read-only mirror - more a reference only, because of Orbi Pro isn't a home networking system.

I might re-load FW on the SXR using a wired PC and web browser. Once it's back up to ready, perform a factory reset and setup from scratch with same wired PC and web browser. Check to see if admin pw persists thru a power failure by pulling the power adapter for 30 seconds then plug back into wall socket.

Re: ORBI pro 50 wifi 6 admin password unknown after power failure
Hi
There's not really an option to reset the firmware on it's own, but i assume that a factory reset does this anyway, right?
I might try this, was already thinking about it, but i doubt it would solve it to be honest.
Last firmware update already dates from jan 2023, i wonder if this orbi will still get support, it surely must be a bug.
Kind regards
Andy

Re: ORBI pro 50 wifi 6 admin password unknown after power failure
Hello @andy_dc,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
If the unit is not accepting the admin password after a power interruptions, you may just want to reset the Orbi Pro to factory default and try to login again using the default password and reconfigure.
https://kb.netgear.com/31486/How-do-I-reset-my-Orbi-system-to-factory-default-settings
If your unit does not comeback to factory state, I suggest to log a case to netgear to assist you with your issue.
Have a lovely day,
