Orbı Pro FW 188.8.131.52 - Manual Download, Install, Erase/Reset, Re-Configure?
As the new FW code 184.108.40.206 is now available. As with all previous Orbi FW releases, is it still Netgear's position and recommendation that Orbi customers perform Manual Download, Install, Erase/Reset, Re-Configure?
Will there ever be a time where new Orbi FW code releases will work as they should, allowing customers to keep and maintain their configurations? Does Netgear understand the hassle, time, liability and other factors Netgear/Orbi creates forcing users to remove Satellites (Outdoor, Ceiling, etc) from their mounted positions, which is the only real method of erasing/resetting the units during EVERY FW code release?
I am only asking, because I am “tempted” to update to the newer 220.127.116.11. Though the release notes do not specifically discuss fixes to previous reported problems. Experience with Netgear and Orbi suggest “maybe” there are some fixes within the 18.104.22.168 FW code. However, as Netgear Employees and other Netgear forum representatives have indicated, Netgear claims to perform quality and extensive code regression testing, which if true, “should” imply a “Manual Download, Install, Erase/Reset, Re-Configure” is not required.
Netgear, I (and I assume other Orbi customers) eagerly await your response.

Our software updates can be safelty updated without the need to go through the steps outlined and reconfiguring the device. If you are experiencing issues upgrading your devices I recommend to have a case opened with support on the issue so we can further look into it to better understand why the devices are failing to be updated.
