Orbi Pro Satellite ethernet ports same as router?

So, this may be a stupid question, and this may be why I have not found the answer explicitly stated anywhere else as yet, but I would just like to confirm: Do the ethernet ports on the Orbi satellite units (looking at Pro, but question probably applies to both systems) function as extensions of those on the router, itself? E.g. can any device that requires a wired connection into your router (smart hub, Philips Hue bridge, Sonos boost, etc.—not including the actual modem which must connect to the dedicated WAN port) make do with a connection via one of the satellite ethernet ports and function as though it were connected to a router ethernet port? Thanks.

Re: Orbi Pro Satellite ethernet ports same as router?

Hi @espialinosa,

Once the Orbi Pro satellite is sync to the Orbi Pro router, you can connect either a laptop or PC via a wired connection to the Orbi Pro satellite.  Refer to the image below:

Re: Orbi Pro Satellite ethernet ports same as router?

Yes, thanks, I understand you can plug in hosts, etc. What I am asking is: Do the ethernet ports on the satellites serve the same function as those on the router? Are they like extensions of the ports on the router?

Re: Orbi Pro Satellite ethernet ports same as router?

@espialinosa,

Once the Orbi Pro satellite is synced to the Orbi Pro router, the ethernet ports on the Orbi Pro satellite extends the local network wherein you can connect more networking devices (such as printer, PCs, etc).
