APIPA
Can one explain what brings the new APIPA option of firmware v4.6.9.11 on the router?
My router is the one serving as a DHCP server for the LAN, but from time to time I noticed (with former firmware versions) that some devices were getting a "random" IP address for a short moment and usually disabling/reenabling the WIFI of that device was fixing it.
I have read https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Private_Internet_Protocol_Addressing
But what will be the change by the activation of APIPA on the router?
Will it mean that the router will provide actual "routing" of addresses that the devices would have selected by themselves when failing to timely renew their lease on the (router's) DHCP server?
PS btw, there is a typo in the Administration user interface of the router at the level of the activation of that option: It reads "Support Automatic Priviate IP Addressing (APIPA))"

Re: APIPA
We've asked NG for more information and details on what this feature is for.
We've made them aware of typos as well.
