Backhaul Ethernet - Orbi 960 + Switch Ubiquiti Enterprise XG-24
Hi,
I
have the following configuration :
NetGear Orbi 960 Kit including 2 satellites (all on the latest firmware)
Switch Ubiquiti Enterprise XG-24 (latest firmware)
A house with wired CAT7 cables through the walls
I cannot get an Ethernet Backhaul working through the switch from the 2.5G port (or whatever port) of any RBSE960 to the 2.5 G Port (or whatever port except of course the yellow WAN one) on RBRE960.
Of course it works when both are connected directly without going through the switch.
RBSE960 is not detected when connected and both ports used (1 x RBRE960 + 1 x RBSE960) on the switch are automatically blocked by the switch itself like there is a loop or something wrong going on. Consequently, RBSE960 is then not visible in RBRE960 admin.
When RBSE960 and RBRE960 are disconnected from the switch everything goes back to normal.
Switch has IGMP off, RSTP on.
Tried with RSTP or STP disabled, not much better, ports are not blocked but network goes down immediatly, a loop seems to be detected.
Is this switch a problem with Orbi Ethernet Backhaul ? if anybody has some experience with this switch or any other Ubiquiti switch and Orbi, I'd like to get some ideas.
Thanks for reading me.

Please confirm that this means the CAT7 cabling has been validated by connecting the 2.5G router port to one of the satellite 2.5G ports by connecting directly to the patch panel. The satellite switches from WiFi backhaul to wired backhaul in the Attached Devices display. Thus, "what changed" is adding the switch.
This (wonderfully powerful, layer 3) switch is unusual in a residential context. You may be onto something with regard to RTSP https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanning_Tree_Protocol#Rapid_Spanning_Tree_Protocol I doubt very much that the Orbi supports RTSP.
Netgear Orbi systems, including the RBE960, support only a limited VLAN concept for the purpose of avoiding the router NAT process for IPTV systems. (see page 98 of the user manual). Are there any VLANs defined on the switch?
In addition to disabling IGMP, RTSP, etc. is there some method to "dumb down" this switch into a layer 2 mode?
With the switch being the focus of attention, it might be worth contacting Ubiquiti to ask about the problem.

Re: Backhaul Ethernet - Orbi 960 + Switch Ubiquiti Enterprise XG-24
IF the RBS work directly connected to the back of the RBR with out the switch, then this is a switch problem. Try the suggestions to disable IGMP and Green Ethernet features on the switch.
Try a different switch as well. XS505M and GS110MX work great with the 9 series.
Be sure to first wirelessly sync the RBS to the RBR, then ethernet connect them.

CAT 7 is proven to work ok
Reading your post, I just realized that Ubiquiti switch can indeed act as "dumb" unmanaged switched when not "adopted" in their proprietary software. I need to try this.
