Computer looses Internet access when I get into range of a new node
I have been having an issue with my MacBook Pro M1, that seems to happen when I walk from a place where I'm connected to the main node (downstairs), and upstairs (next to my second node). Instead of ...

the Zyxel is a modem/router combo device and can cause double nats. Some devices are more tolerant of double nats.
A double nat happens when you cascade more than 1 router.

Fixes? There’s 3 options but only use 1.
1. Put the modem/gateway in modem only/pass through mode. This disables its routing functions.
2. Leave the modem/gateway in router mode but put the Netgears IP address into its DMZ. This forwards the data to the netgear. You can either leave the modem/gateway’s wireless enabled or disabled. Just make sure its using a different wifi channel to prevent interference
3. Put the Netgear into access point mode. This disables its routing functions. Wifi/ethernet still works but it does disable some features.

There is actually a newer firmware for that satellite/router. 6.3.7.10
You can try installing that and doing a factory reset/new install process. Sometimes the reset helps with issues.

The Zyxel is in bridge mode, so that is not the issue.
- plemansDec 23, 2022Guru - Experienced UserIt wouldn't be the first time a device updated and broke it's bridge mode. Try one of the other options

The more I read, the more I realize there seems to be an issues with Apple products and Netgear systems. I'm just one of many having issues when switching between satellites it seems like. Restarting the computer for instance always fixes the issue (connects like it should), and often deactivating the Wi-Fi, waiting some seconds, and turning it on also works (but not always). Also just waiting for 5-10 minutes usually solves the problem by itself.
