I have an RBR850 and 4 RBS850 satellites installed and having some issues with the satellites dropping connection.
On looking at the FW Version I see I am running V4.6.14.3_2.3.12 and when I check for any updates it tells me it is running the latest version.
I'm in Australia so when I check the Netgear site it shows that the latest version is V7.2.6.21. I downloaded the version for the RBR as well as for the RBS, but when I try to manually load that version into the RBR850, it comes up and tells me
"Uploading a firmware manually may cause incompatibility issues among Orbi devices. NETGEAR strongly suggests using Online Update to update your firmware. Do you still want to proceed?"
My concern is that I have never done this before and not sure if I should but obviously the "online update" is not working for these.
I was hoping that a later Version of FW would help my current situation.
Also I am using these in AP mode only as I have a seperate router.
Any advise would be appreciated.

I had been using my MacOS Laptop (Safari only) for all my tries to connect to the Satellites (without success) and even using the password the same as the router.
After searching through other posts I found others using Chrome etc, so decided to use my installed Chrome on the same laptop, it worked, I was able to login fine to each Satellite and have successfully updated all Satellite FW. I still need to do the router but that will need to be tonight.
I'm hoping all will go well, but I thank those that made suggestions.
So my problem looks as though it just won't work with Safari but works fine using Chrome.

Re: Firmware version for RBR850 update advise
I like to log in manually to each satellite/router if I'm concerned with a drop bricking my device.
You could be able to look up the satellites IP address and log into them and do it.
Just make sure to do the satellites first and the router last.

Re: Firmware version for RBR850 update advise
Thanks for that information, I did read in the manual that you should do the satellites first and yes I can get to each ones IP address. The problem I am having as far as satellites is concerned is that it won't allow me to login to them. I enter admin and "password" (as I didn't change that) but it fails, I even tried other passwords, the same as what I changed the router to, but again it doesn't work. I'll need to put up another subject request to see why I'm having this issue.

Re: Firmware version for RBR850 update advise
Satellites use the same credentials as the router: "admin" plus a password.
