Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

Trying to connect my Panasonic ToughBook with Windows 10 Pro to my existing Netgear wifi, but the laptop does not see any Netgear connection.

How to help my computer to find the Netgear connection?

Many thanks for any help.

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

What wifi card is in the laptop?
what driver is installed for that card?

Some of the older wifi cards have issues with AX routers.

options?

1. find out the card, see if the manufacture of the card (not the laptop) has a newer driver that fixes those issues.

2. disable AX on the router (which ruins the point of an AX router)

3. upgrade the wireless card or install a usb based card.

Can you share the model number for your Panasonic tough book please? Will like to see what kind of wireless card is on the laptop

Thanks!

Thanks for replying and apologies for my delayed response.

Model No for my Panasonic ToughBook is CF-53.

Thanks again

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

Thanks for your very kind reply.

Unfortunately this fix is somewhat beyond my technical capacity - I am unsure of where to look for the wireless card specs. I looked in Control Panel, but it's not there.

Best regards

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

To look for your network adapter type Device Manager in bottom search bar of windows 10, they scroll down to Network adapter and expand it, the first line should show you what network adapter that is installed.   Right click on the network adapter and  a box should come and let you know if the adapter is working or not.

You can also run Network troubleshooter   Windows 10: Run Troubleshooter to Fix Network Connection Problems - My Microsoft Office Tips (myoffi...

Did this notebook connect to wifi before ?  How old is the notebook?   On some notebooks there is a key that you can shut wifi off, check your owners manual  and see if there is a key on the laptop that actually turns wifi on and off.

See if any of this works for you.

I looked up that laptop and it can with potentially several different cards.

so go into your device manager and find the wireless card.

Post back what card it is and what driver is installed

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

Many thanks everyone, for all these answers.

I checked the Network Cards...

They all are OK and using the latest drivers.

I can connect to the home WiFi, no problem.

What I want is to connect to the NetGear booster, so that I can get online upstairs as well as downstairs. The home WiFi is not strong enough to reach upstairs, that's why I bought the NetGear adapter.

Also, I ran the Windows Troubleshooter - but it cannot see any problems, because it thinks I am on the home WiFi. The laptop cannot see the Netgear router, so the troubleshooter doesn't know it even exists.

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

I am now completely confused... what do you mean your connected to the home wifi but not the extender...If you are using a Mesh system ...  perhaps someone here can walk you through it because what I know of Mesh systems any satellite (iif that is what your talking about) should not need any configuration once you get system configured... I'm going to step aside and let a mesh expert take it from here...

Re: Netgear Satellite RBS750 - Connection failure

Did you buy a RBS750 and connect it to a random router?

the RBS750 isn't a wireless extender. its a satellite for a mesh system.

What router is it connected back to?

What is your whole setup?
