New Online Update 4.6.3.16 (RBR850/RBS850)
Just did a downgrade from 4.6.3.9 to 3.2.18.1, factory resetted and I see Netgear are pushing an update automatically to 4.6.3.16. (see attached screenshot) This firmware is not available as an o...

I will throw it up in my guest room and see how it holds up for a few days.
Just for checking, if one has to stick with a 3.xx firmware which one do you personally recommend?
Firstly thanks for all the help furry. You have been patiently helping everyone here, and while i was being sarcastic earlier, your help is much appreciated.
Using PFsense i threw up on an old nuc, i was able to block all updates and manually shift to 3.2.18xx which is the last v3 update. So far it seems to work. Taking your advice i reset them entirely, kept them off for half a day, and then plugged them back in and added them back. I think one of my satellites is a bit wonky, since it oddly loses connection once in a while, but the rest of them seem to be holding up fine.
I have been able to successfully block updates via pfsense, since whenever i check via firmware updates manually, it gives a connection error. I looked up all the names suggested here in the various threads and added all of them to a small blocklist.

I would try a full on factory reset on the RBS and RBR and setup from scratch. Something I did do once after downgrading back to v3 to check to see if that was possible. Something also you can try as well.
It's possible there maybe a bad state on your RBR thats not getting updated right when ethernet connected.
I did update back to v16 and was IN AP mode. RBS working well and appearing correctly on the RBRs web page.

Yes, I have tried leaving them off for up to an enitre hour before. I'm getting solid blue everytime I boot them up. Same behavior...Sat 1 appears correctly on the interface when on a wireless backhaul, but when I'm wired the interfaces are inconsistant.
- Wireless backhual for for Sat 1....interface is consistant between web and app
- Wired, Orbi app shows both wired satelites, Web-shows only one satellite but shows it under a connected device tile, no connected devices for Sat 1
- Wired, able to log directly into both satelittes via web and see both have connected devices
I would be interested to hear from other users on this forum with 2 or more wired satelites on this version firmware in AP mode to see if they are seeing similar behavior.
Definitely disappointed with Netgear...I was Netgear fanboy with RBK53 AC version which is why I didn't hesitate on upgrading to the RBK853 once I had a few Ax devices. I was realitvely happy with that purchase until V4 of this firmware came out. I was always taught it was easier to keep existing customers than attract new ones. Apparently Netgear hasn't learned that yet.

I appreciate all the help. I just did the full factory reset yesterday. I will wait for the next version of firmware and try that. If that doesn't work its back to version 3 and I will never do another Netgear firmware upgrade again. When it comes time to upgrade hardware again, I'll be shopping around.
