Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
Do you have a host router that you can use in front of the RBR or just a modem?
@SergeL wrote:
Yeah, planning to do firmware rollback to 3.x over weekend.

Curious to see if disabling AX mode on the RBR changes any behavior of the RBS?
You may want to consider reverting FW back to v3...
@SergeL wrote:
Satellites are still randomly rebooting, but the router itself is working. At least disruption is minimal, my devices are just switching between router of satellites. Less disruption, but annoying.

OK...

So far I haven't experienced many unexpected reboots. Just a few so far on my satellites. Will keep monitoring.

Hahaha, the options are "Ask communty" or "Pay for Premium support"
@FURRYe38 wrote:Understand. Running out of options here so you'll need to contact NG support and express your information to them.

Reverting the system while you wait for NG support is an option you should look at.
We can only do so much here.

Ok you'll need to follow these links then to downgrade:
NOTE: Have the prior RBS and RBR FW files already downloaded to your PC. You'll need to downgrade each RBS first normally, then RBR lastly using this link info:

I want to try one more thing, I'll try to backup my settings, factory reset devices and run on the latest firmware. I saw some reports that people have zero issues with the latest version and it seems that they did factory reset. Just wanted to validate.

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
good luck, i tried this as well but after about 6 hours it started again. i also tried to disable the internal dhcp (in route mode) plugedin a opnsense interface to do the dhcp and dns. because i saw in the orbi overview when it wasn t running that sometime another ip adress was show on the satelite (which wasn t from my subnets ). but also this wasn t working stable. on top i messared the roundtrip to the satelites, if they are working then its about 3-10ms (through the wireless backhaul) but if i look to the measurement during the day sometimes it goes up to 500ms to 1000ms. there are about 20 devices atm connected so this should nt be much stressful for the system.

Yes, seen others as well mentioning this.
Keep us posted...Do the RBS first, then RBR lastly. I recommend a full power OFF of the RBS and RBR as well.

Do you think 4.6.3.16 is more stable than 4.6.5.14?

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
Currently my 7 series is on v16 at the request of NG. So far it's been stable here for me. I had v14 loaded but had to downgrade.
I'll I did was downgrade manually, powered OFF both RBR and RBS for 1 minute then back ON.

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
Never did a full factory reset ever
Did an over the air update did not directly connect via wires.
This past weekend when I got back from my trip I did unplug everything and let it sit for like I think 10/15minutes while we were unpacking.
Then had to restart/reboot via the app the router several times until my iMac was connected and seeing it.
And yeah all I did this time differently was turn off a ask for 2.4.
While I was away for the week of the 11th, and my wife was home. She reported that yeah stuff keep dropping everything was terrible and during the whole week I would reboot a few times/several times a day and still nothing changed. Luckily she was directly plugged in.
Was auto upgraded the the latest firmware the day it came out and was mostly OK that week. Then what I described happened
Sadly from listening to everybody on here somethings seem to work for some some work for others and some people of had no issues whatsoever. I can say that the first update one before the current one I had zero issues the entire time. My issues really started with the current firmware that was supposed to fix the previous one lol
At least this not boring
Lol
But Boring would be better as it would be working like it did prior to all these firmware updates.

You might want to re-load FW using a ethernet connected PC and see if this changes any behaviors.
Wireless or over the air FW updates can be messed up.

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
Hopefully was not directed towards me to try.
As I said once I changed mine mysteriously to .4 X off on Saturday, all has been perfect/ back to normal. So wish there was a simple fix for all.
Sadly the safest choice is to restore the old version three and block off auto update. That seems to work for all who have done it.

Ok thats right, you mentioned turning off AX mode on 2.4Ghz.
I guess keep it running like that for now. I'd do a backup configuration to file as well on the RBR for safe keeping if you haven't already.

Just did factory reset after my internet went down in the middle of the conference call with the customer
Running 4.6.3.16 on the router and satellites. Installation after the factory reset was different from what I remember, now it's a nice wizard. I did not restored my settings from backup, just added my port forwarding rules and DHCP mapping for a few devices. Let's see how it goes. Another customer call in 30 minutes, keeping fingers crossed.

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
Assuming you can block the auto update, downgrade to 3x. If your problems go away, the firmware is bad. I did this to prove it was firmware:
1. Load 3.2.18.1 - my system is stable.
2. I upgrade to 4x and within a few hours I can see at least one satellite has dropped and reconnected.
4. Do all the recommend full system reset, disable AX, turn off and leave for 24 hours, pray to wifi gods. Still have stability issues with satellites disconnecting
3. Reload 3.2.18.1 - system completely stable again
I can verify it using WiFi explorer, with a satellite selected wait for it to drop signal, go take a look physically and sure enough it’s lights are on reconnecting.
When I downgrade, I intentionally do no reset, setting changes or power the system off for any time. I want to prove the only difference is firmware.
Netgear Orbi intentionally hides many settings. It’s aimed at the plug and play/non network admins demographic, set up is recommended to be done on a smart phone. You should not have to spend weeks trying to fix faults or getting settings right. They are hidden from you. You pay an absolute premium for this convenience.
Whilst I appreciate competitors have their own flaws and reliability issues, at least with other equipment I can tweak further settings for stability and load whichever firmware I need without fear the next day it’ll be updated again.
The only real fix for those with issues is firmware 3.2.18.1, block auto updates and run it in access point mode. In that config I’ve now been up for 5 days without a single reboot or drop of signal. Save the stress.
I really wish I’d given up earlier while I was still in the Amazon return window

Re: New - RBR750 / RBS750 Firmware Version 4.6.5.14 Released
And correct was on the business trip got back and I was gonna downgrade to a version three. Don’t know why I decided to undo 2.4 ax , I really didn’t want to do that for five because when I did I noticed a performance difference but didn’t notice a performance difference or 2.4.
And mysteriously it worked.
I agree 100% downgrade to a version three and block auto update for now and everything should be fine.

Would be interesting to see if disabling 2.4Ghz AX mode on your RBR would be of any help.
Keep us posted.
