No devices connected through RBS750

I have the 2-pack CBR750/RBS750, purchased in 2020 when they were released. Firmware on CBR750 is latest - V4.6.5.8. Firmware on RBS750 is also latest - V4.6.5.14.

For a few months now, I have not been able to successfully connect and maintain any 5gHz devices to the satellite. It successfully connects a 2.4gHz smart home device that I use, but literally every other device is ignored for some reason.

In my attempts to reset the satellite as per instructions in this thread , it will NOT reset. No amount of power-cycling, reset-button holding, etc seems to work. Its behavior is as follows:

  1. Power is disconnected (and I remove it from attached devices in the web UI)
  2. Power is reconnected with the satellite near the main unit
  3. White light flashes for about 5-10ish seconds
  4. White light pulses for several minutes after that (anywhere from 2-5+)
  5. Since it never turns solid white, during the pulsing white phase, I hold the Reset button for 15+ seconds. This does not change the pulsing white light; it might "restart" the pulsing phase but it never changes other than that.
  6. During the while light pulsing, I notice it consistently re-adds itself to the main unit via wifi backhaul, but initially shows up as "wired" and the light on the satellite turns solid blue.
  7. Solid blue light disappears, satellite is connected, and is indicated as being connected to the main unit via wifi.

What am I missing here? Why can't I effectively reset this satellite? More importantly: am I the only person who can't get devices to connect and even favor the satellite when it's closer?

Re: No devices connected through RBS750

Is the RBS directly connected to the CBR or is there a LAN switch in the middle?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

The RBS is connected to the CBR via the wifi backhaul (it's physically in my kitchen, whereas my CBR sits in my laundry room on the floor above. I have a LAN switch connected to the CBR directly, but nothing is connected via ethernet to the RBS.

My home size is just under 2k ft sq.

CBR and RBS are separated by being at the furthest 2 ends of the house (I'd say at lest 20-30ft) + they're separated by an entire floor.

I will try lowering transmit power of the CBR.

I don't perceive this to be an issue with the CBR; every device that connects to it works flawlessly. This exclusively an issue with devices preferring the CBR over the RBS regardless of range/signal strength, and so my first instinct was to at a minimum perform a reset on the RBS and reassociate with the network. I can't even do that effectively.

Another confusing posts

this appears to direct users to a link for a firmware update

however many super users often state that the problems they are experiencing are not related to the firmware

Correct - this is not a firmware issue; the RBS unit is on current firmware, and even if it wasn't this wouldn't tell me how to effectively reset it when the pinhole reset button doesn't work (as I outlined in my OP).
