ORBI AX4200 vs. AX6000 Diff in App, Wired Connection, and Processor
Hi. I have recently purchased the AX4200. House is 5,000 sq ft and connected devices are 55. I use one of the satellite to provide wired conncetion to my laptop for highest speed. I have the following queries:
- Is the App on AX-4200 different from AX-6000? I hear there are a few features missing in AX-4200 App which are available on AX-6000
- What is the impact of the the higher capacity Processor on AX-6000 on managing the requirements of higher speeds for certain connections. I want my Laptop which is wired to the Satellite to have the highest possible speed availbel at all times. Can this be better managed by AX-6000 relative to AX-4200?
- Which one of the two offers a Higher (realistic) speed via the wired Satellite connection?
Many thanks in advance for the facilitation.

I want my Laptop which is wired to the Satellite to have the highest possible speed availbel at all times. If you want fastest speeds available then you should be using 5Ghz AX wireless mode on you laptop instead of wired since connection rates on wireless is faster than the 1Gb LAN ports on the RBS and RBR. Though the WAN port is also limited by the 1Gb WAN port speed so max you'll ever seen thru the Orbi wired system is around 900Mpbs on a wired and wireless connection. So wired on this case is preferrecd. Since the 8 series has a 2.5Gb WAN port and supports LAG, you can see over 1000Mpbs on the wan side wireless though the 8 series RBR and RBS has 1Gb LAN ports.
- Can this be better managed by AX-6000 relative to AX-4200? See #2 above.
- Which one of the two offers a Higher (realistic) speed via the wired Satellite connection? Connection rates: 600 + 1200 + 2400Mbps for 7 series, 800 + 2400 + 2400Mbps) for 8 series.
