Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Possible downgrade assistance

Have you tried a full factory reset on the system then pullled the power adpaters for the RBR and RBS for 1 minute then plug back in then setup from scratch?

Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Possible downgrade assistance

Yea like I mentioned, I'm not interested in rebuilding my entire network especially when others have tried the reset option to no avail. I thought it was pretty much agreed that this is a Netgear firmware issue since v4.6.3.7 was forced upon us. Has Netgear taken responsiblity to resolve this issue with a patch and is there a timeframe yet?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?

This user seems to have stablized his system:

Yes power cycled everything associated with my network with out any luck. Not seeing where a user said that fixed this issue? Do you know if NG has acknolodged the issue and is working on a firmware fix? They haven't responded to me yet...

Others have already reported that NG is aware of the problem.

Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Possible downgrade assistance (or update V4.6.3.9 ??)

Just found out new RBS850 (Satellite) AX6000's have Firmeware Version V4.6.3.9 !!!

Anyone know how we can download that? Could that finally be the long awaited stability fix???  Is it compatible with RBS750?

@mcnitzken @Lasertour @cugarguy @dragonrunner @wrakoski

ALL USERS of the 7 series Orbi AX system, please contact NG support by opening a support ticket and contact NG and ask them for the beta that seems to be avialable for the 7 series that seems to be directed to fixed what everyone with a 7 series has been having problems with:

https://www.netgear.com/support/#

For user out of warranty, contact @Blanca_O and @DarrenM and send them a PM and ask for the beta.

Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Possible downgrade assistance

I see you posting this all over, to contact support, but maybe you should contact support to let them know a Beta is available becuase I just did and they don't know about the beta and don't have access to it. Just spent 30 minutes with them and they have no clue.

So people, don't contact support, they don't know about the beta and it will just result in a waste of your time.

Maybe ask this user what he did when they contacted NG support and got the beta?

Plus from what I can see that version is having the same or similar problems to 4.6.3.7 anyway.

I saw that and was going to try the same on the 750 just to see. Have you heard of anyone having success with that on the 750 by chance? I have asked for the Beta firmware but am waiting on a reply.

Not that I'm aware of or if it has, not sure if anyone responded.

Was certainly a odd event on mine since I had been using v4 in router mode and hadn't seen any problems up until I factory reset using the ERASE button and encountered those problems and reproduced the boot loop issue on the RBS. Leaving my system OFF until the next day cleared it up. I don't believe 24hours unplugged is needed. It was just the time frame that I stopped trying to figure out the problem and left it until the next day after I got home from work. Then started working for me. Crazy for sure. Smiley Embarassed

Something to try while you wait for the Beta.

Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Temp Solution

***TEMPORARY FIX ($$) FOR RBS750 SATELLITE FIRMWARE V4.6.3.7 STABALITY ISSUE***

So after much frustration with the Firmware V4.6.3.7 disaster, I tried something that actually worked...however it goes against my normal willingness to do so. My original setup was at&t fiber (zero issues) in passthrough mode to my Orbi RBR750 in router mode with a backhaul (wired via CAT6) RBS750 satellite which worked well for over a year until the V4.6.3.7 firmware made everything unstable (4-5 outages per day).

After rebooting, power cycling, etc. everything to no avail, I purchased a new RBS850 Satellite that came with FW V4.6.3.9 and REPLACED my RBS750 Satellite. (I was planning to add a third anyway and figured I could return it if this didn't work.) Since I made the swap, I have had zero outages and it's going on 4 days!  In my opinion based on this test, the issue is with running an Orbi satellite with V4.6.3.7.

ORIGINAL = att Fiber >> RBR750 Router FW V4.6.3.7_2.0.49 >> RBS750 Satellite FW V4.6.3.7

FIXED = att Fiber >> RBR750 Router FW V4.6.3.7_2.0.49 >> RBS850 Satellite FW V4.6.3.9

Now I STILL need the V4.6.3.7 Satellite issue fixed so I can add my RBS750 back to my network for a third AP so if Netgear could respond with acknowledgement and resolution timeframe, many customers including me may decide not to rip everything out and start over…

Re: ORBI RBS750 no longer stable in v4.6.3.7 - Temp Solution

OH NO!!!!

My temporary fix is now gone!

OLD FIX = att Fiber >> RBR750 Router FW V4.6.3.7_2.0.49 >> RBS850 Satellite FW V4.6.3.9  (replaced RBS750 Satellite FW V4.6.3.7)

Apparently Netgear did another auto firmware upgrade and my the intermittent network loss is BACK!

BROKEN AGAIN = att Fiber >> RBR750 Router FW V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 >> RBS850 Satellite FW V4.6.3.9

Latest firmware V4.6.3.16_2.0.51 brought back the same issue for my new setup...

Factory reset the RBR and RBS750 and setup from scratch.
