Orbi 750 slow
I installed a 750 router with 2 satellites to an Xfinity gateway modem. My speeds from the gateway to the router are always fast but they are irregular and sometimes slow from different devices throughout the house. One of the two satellites is at the edge of the range and provides very slow speeds and unimpressive range. We run17 devices, including iphones, pads, laptops, and thermostats.
any suggestions on how to improve speeds, particularly on improving router to satellite speed? Can I connect the router to the satellites using powerline adapters?

Regarding speed you would have to move the satellites closer to the router. Check your WIFI channel to make sure there is not a lot of traffic on it, and if so, change it to a cleaner channel.
Disable Circle, Armor and uncheck 20/40Mhz Coexistence, Enable WMM
You should be able to use Powerline Adapters. Just make sure you get the pass-through type with a plug socket built-in.

Re: Orbi 750 slow
If your modem has a built in router, This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop
30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.
