Orbi RBK582 Multiple SSIDs
So, I purchased this kit today and I'm extremely disappointed to find out that I cannot split the bands into their Own SSIDs.
I generally do this so I can control who is allowed to connect to which Band, and that's impossible to resolve!
Also, because of this boneheaded decision, I'm unable to use WPA3, as not all of my devices are compatible with it and now I legitimately have to compromise the security of my 5 GHz Band just because I don't have separate settings for each band.
who thought it was a good idea to create a killer Wi-Fi Mesh and then screw the whole thing up by not allowing us to change this feature. I know you could telnet into the older models and turn it on, but sadly that's not an option anymore.

Re: Orbi RBK582 Multiple SSIDs
RBK582 or 852?
Probably should return the system and find something that you can do that. Orbi systems have never officially supported any kind of SSID seperation. Overall it's not needed and works for most and as intended. I"ve not ever had the need to have separate SSIDs. NG takes a solid stance on there design and support. Up to you use as they intended, or not.
Good Luck.

Re: Orbi RBK582 Multiple SSIDs
That's not true, you had to use the CLI to set it up on other Orbi devices, but they have even taken that away.
Yes RBK852.

Re: Orbi RBK582 Multiple SSIDs
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Orbi AX product. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Orbi AX and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this "general Orbi" forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi-AX/bd-p/en-home-orbi-ax
Seems like NG doesn't support separation of SSIDs at all. Never has. Unofficially, people have used telnet.
Thank you.
