Orbi RBR750 reports Sonos Play 3 blocked

Hi All

I have been running an Orbi RBR750 router with 3 satellites for about 18 months providing WIFI around my property. Because it is connected into another router i am running the RBR750 in AP Mode.

At the same time I have been running a Sonos system (1 x Play 5; 4 x Play 3 and 2 x Play 1).

Everything was fine until a couple of weeks ago when 2 of Play 3 stopped connecting to Sonos. I messed with Sonos and it was reporting the P3s needed an update but the update would fail. Tried different devices with the app; tried wireless and wired.

I eventually realised that the two P3s were blocked in the attached devices list on the RBR750. I have a separate Sky WiFi so i moved the Sonos onto Sky by connecting a Sonos speaker via ethernet to the Sky router.

the P3s were able to connect and update and i could play music through them while on the Sky Wifi.

I moved everything back to the Orbi Network and it was still blocking the two P3s which then will not work again even though the updates have been applied (they do not report any update required). they just don't connect.

Given it works on Sky I have assumed that there is a issue with the Orbi and the two P3s - trouble is a lot of the Orbi settings are greyed out because i am running it in AP Mode.

Anyone got any ideas?

thanks

What happens if you turn OFF The RBS and connect just with the RBR only?

When in AP mode, Orbi should not be or would not be blocking anything as its just passing data from devices to the host router.

What FW is loaded on the system?

Yes, a whole bunch of features are not available in Access Point (AP) mode:

Would it be possible to post a screen shot showing that the Orbi is blocking these specific devices?
