Orbi MBK753S

I am simply wondering if I can use my Orbi MBK753S satellites without the Orbi MBK753S Modem. Will the satellites connect with and act as extenders for the HughesNet HT2010W modem/router?

No, RBS only work with Orbi RBR units. 7 or 8 series Orbi.

Re: Cable modem / Router configure to satellite modem

I am in a rural area.  HughesNet is the best Internet provider I can get here.  I wanted to use my Orbi 753S system to extend the wifi throughout the house.  I was able to connect the system and get it running, however, the router uses all of our data very quickly.  Our HughesNet Modem is also a router, so, apparently I do not need another router. ??  Can my satellites connect to the HughesNet HT2010W modem/router?  A HughesNet rep told me I could disable the router within the HughesNet modem, however, we have a guesthouse/rental on our property which accesses internet provided by this modem/router.  The guest house is about 100 yards from the main house.  I am afraid my Orbi system will not project the signal that far.  Therefore, I do not want to disable the router part of our HughesNet modem and end what little internet connection there is at the guest house.  Yet, I still need to extend wifi throughout the main house.  Can my Orbi satellites extend wifi from the HughesNet modem/router without the Orbi router?

If you're talking the complete router/satellite kit, it can work with hughes net. It isn't going to increase your speed because the bottleneck in that system is the hughesnet connection but it can increase your coverage area

I can find no such thing as an MBK753S in the Netgear database. Perhaps you mean RBK753S.

In general Orbi satellites need to sit behind an Orbi router to work. Is that what you own?

There is also a problem with cable modem/routers in that many do not have a "bridge" mode to disable the modem section. They don't have "router only" or "access point" modes. Track down the manual for whichever device you own to see if it does support AP mode.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Orbi - NETGEAR Communities

or

Orbi WiFi 6 (AX) and WiFi 6E (AXE) - NETGEAR Communities

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

You have joined in on an existing conversation from four years ago that may or may not have anything to do with your problems.

There is also a good chance that the official support team is busily monitoring new conversations and may miss your addition to this one.

If you do want help with your problem, check previous stuff that may be related then start your own discussion.

If you do decide to ask a question, you should provide more details and your own version of the information that the forum suggests that you provide. For example, as this is a router, it helps to know what modem you are using and the various things that you have tried to fix the problem.
