I purchased an RBK840 to improve WiFi coverage. I used the phone app for setup. Everything went well until I connected it to my modem, a Netgear CM700. The app indicated that the cable was connected, but never connected to the internet. The modem works fine connected directly to a laptop computer or through the old router. Is there a setting I should change, either on the router or modem?

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Re: RBK840 won't connect to the internet
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Re: RBK840 won't connect to the internet
I can now connect to the internet, but when I attempt to load a web page, I get a "Connection isn't private warning (Windows WiFi) or "Can't establish secure connection" error (Mac connected to router by ethernet cable).

Re: RBK840 won't connect to the internet
Update:
I logged on to orbilogin.com on my desktop PC to look into updating the firmware as suggested in the user's manual. When I did, I was returned to the set-up process. I did get a notice of an IP address conflict, and that it had been changed to 10.0.0.1. Then a screen appeared to allow updating the firmware, which I did. After that the system is working great with a noticeable increase in speed over the old router.
