RBR750 slow

I bought an RBR750 a few months ago and checked my speed from ORBI speed test.  It shows 575 which is good since I have around 500.  Then I ran several tests from the internet and they show under 200.  Why is this so slow?  What can I do?  I purchased from Costco so I could return it?

Re: RBR750 slow

Please explain how you ran tests "from the internet".  What device? What test?

In general, devices connected to the router over WiFi cannot achieve the same rate of speed as devices connected with Ethernet cable.

I did run this with my phone connected to the wifi (orbi).

Re: RBR750 slow

I used several different internet speeds tests and all tested about the same.  I realize the wifi is going to be a little slow but it is more than 1/2 of the speed I am suppose to get.

Re: RBR750 slow

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What devices do you have connected?

Be sure to speed test with a wired PC connected to the RBR.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and 📡 satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS📡 to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Wi-fi speeds are very limited depending upon your device and wireless band.  The speeds will virtually always be a bit less than what your Orbi speed test is reporting (wired speeds, not wireless).

This site shows realistic top speeds for various wireless devices: https://support.google.com/fiber/answer/6250056#zippy=%2Cmobile-devices-wi-fi%2Ccomputers-wi-fi%2Cco....  Don't worry if your wireless device speed test is near these max numbers.

Re: RBR750 slow

Ok I am running this test on my galaxy fold 3 newest model. I have 575 MG registering from the modem using the orbi test under the orbi application. This is correct since I have 500mg from the provider. Then when I test again from my phone wirelessly I get under 200mg for a speed. Ok I understand there is a drop in mgs but 300 less? I have tried many internet speed tests all testing around the same.

Re: RBR750 slow

It is not the modem it tests at 575mg. I have 500mg service. It is spectrum my service provider. I downloaded the latest firmware.
