RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

Dear members,

Excuses for my not so correct English. I am not a native speaker or writer ...
I own a RBR850. In the tab "ADVANCED"/"SECURITY"/"ACCES CONTROL" it is impossible to remove an item from the list.
I noticed that there is a smartphone on the list that has the same IP adres ... But I want to delete it so I do not think that this can be a problem.
Firmware version is v4.6.3.16
MacOS Big Sur v, 11,6,8

Hope somebody can help me??

Kindest regards,

Jefvandejumas

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Re: RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

The access control page has three lists:

  1. Connected Devices
  2. Previously Allowed devices that are not connected
  3. Previously Blocked devices that are not connected.

The Orbi must remember every device that has ever been connected so that it will know what to do if the device returns (which may be never). Devices can be removed from list 2 and list 3.  Nothing can be removed from list 1 because those devices are currently connected.

Plus, the lists can be edited only when Access Control is enabled.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Re: RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

I understand this very well. But the problem is that I can not remove some items from list 2.
I do not have a list 3. It is a private network and a NAS is integrated in the network. Users have some rights but the most important are for me 😉

Re: RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

I have not done a factory reset, because for the rest is everything working.
I update my NAS frequently but factory reset was needed.
Maybe it is necessary if you have serious trouble.

Re: RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

Maybe I did not explain it so well.
Before The Orbi system I had Cisco, Linksys and Belkin. I could delete items out of the networksystem. I did all the updates and never had to reinstall the system again. I have to say that most of the items were connected wired. Some were wireless.
Due to a move to another house I had to use a wireless system.
Right now I got more than 15 devices in the network. Only a few are wired. Those that are close to the satellites.
Is there some golden tip that I can delete items out of the list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network without having to do a total reset?
Any working advice is welcome.
Just noticed that via the webinterface I was able to delete items from list 2. Can someone explain why this is?

Re: RBR850 can not remove item from acces list

Problem solved.
Deleted cache, deleted apps (both on pc and phone), deleted IP's.
Reinstalled them again (no factory reset and no new setup from scratch since last update).
So far everything is working again.
Thanks for the reactions.
